About the Role

    As a Cashier/Customer Service representative, you will be essential in delivering outstanding customer experiences while efficiently managing transactions. Your core skills in cash handling, retail sales, and basic math will enable you to operate the cash register accurately. With a focus on customer service, you will assist shoppers, answer inquiries, and ensure a welcoming atmosphere. Your organizational skills and time management abilities will help maintain store operations smoothly.

    Responsibilities:
    - Ability to multi-task and assist customers in a fast-paced setting
    - Provide exceptional customer service by greeting and assisting customers in a friendly and professional manner
    - Process customer transactions accurately and efficiently using the cash register
    - Maintain a clean and organized checkout area
    - Answer customer inquiries in-person and over the phone
    - Provide sales assistance in the garden center
    - Assist with inventory management, including restocking shelves and monitoring product levels
    - Collaborate with team members to ensure a positive shopping experience for customers
    - Ability to work one weekend day is a must.

Requirements

Experience: Prior experience in landscaping or related field preferred. Experience with landscape construction techniques, equipment operation, and plant care is desirable.

Physical Fitness: Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting heavy objects, operating machinery, and working outdoors in various weather conditions.

 

Knowledge: Basic knowledge of plant identification, soil types, and landscaping principles.

Familiarity with hardscaping techniques is advantageous.

Communication: Good communication skills to follow instructions, collaborate with team members, and interact with clients professionally.

Driver's License: Valid driver's license with a clean driving record is required. Experience towing trailers or operating commercial vehicles is a plus.

Certifications: Possession of relevant certifications, such as landscaping certifications or pesticide applicator licenses, is beneficial but not mandatory.
